Heathwatch Essex is an independent voice for the people of Essex. Launched in April 2013, the organisation gathers and represents people’s views and experiences of NHS and social care services so that they can be designed and delivered better. This includes mental health and disability services, care for the elderly or frail, and also public health. They work directly with the public, and closely with local voluntary and community groups, to find out what matters to people about NHS and social care in Essex and to give a voice to those who are seldom heard.

Healthwatch is here to represent the collective voice of the people of Essex and to influence decisions made about how NHS and social care services are provided that affect local communities. If you have an individual complaint, there are other services which can help you, including:

  1. NHS complaints
  2. Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS)
  3. Complaint advocacy (PohWer)

To get involved or for more information, visit the Healthwatch website, find them on Facebook, or follow them on Twitter @HWEssex.
