A team of clinicians and staff from North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) will be out and about next week sharing tips with local people on how they can further support themselves to stay well this winter.
Their activities coincide with Self Care Week – an annual initiative aimed at increasing awareness on the help and support that is locally available.
They will be visiting busy shopping areas and public places across Colchester and Tendring, helping local people to make the right health choices and get better quickly.
The team will also have information about how to treat winter illnesses, what to keep in medicine cabinets as well as answer questions about the flu vaccine.

Dr Hasan Chowhan is Chairman of the North East Essex CCG. He said: “Many minor illnesses or injuries can be treated at home simply by combining a well-stocked medicine cabinet with plenty of rest. Our self care activities are aimed at reminding people about the help and support available so people can look after their health without feeling the need to see their GP.”
Dr Chowhan added: “It is about empowering local people with the confidence and information to look after themselves and giving them the options and skills to be able to select and chose the most appropriate and best care for them.”
