Clinicians at the North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) say it is with regret that the next Board meeting – originally planned for 30 May – will be rescheduled to 27 June 2017.
The reason for this postponement is that the original date falls within the pre-election period. This is a period during which government departments, local authorities and the NHS are restricted from publicly discussing, or engaging with the public, any decisions that might be regarded as politically sensitive until after the general election on 8 June.
The next Board meeting will now take place on 27 June at Venture Centre 2000, Bromley Rd, Lawford, Manningtree CO11 2JE starting at 2pm.
One of the main agenda items to be included at the June Board meeting will be an update on the Urgent Care review engagement exercise and the Board will make a recommendation on the future service model.
A full agenda and supporting papers will be published one week before the meeting takes place.
Dr Gary Sweeney, Chairman of the CCG, said: “On behalf of the CCG, I apologise if this causes any inconvenience to local people. This will be an important meeting for the CCG and for our local population so we need to ensure any decisions that are made do not interfere with political processes.”
The CCG’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place at the same venue immediately after the Board meeting, between 4-5pm.
