In celebration of the NHS turning 70 on the 5th July, North East Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is planning to curate a collection of stories from the past 70 years of our local NHS from members of the public.
They are asking people to share their anecdotes, thanks and musings to celebrate this significant milestone and have created NHS70 memory boxes and postcards and hope you will participate.
The memory boxes are now available at local GP practices across Colchester and Tendring, including Colchester Library, where you can pop along and fill in a postcard to pop in the box. You can also email your memories or thanks to firstname.lastname@example.org
Local GP Dr Hasan Chowhan said “Over the last 70 years, the NHS has transformed the health and wellbeing of the nation and become the envy of the world. It’s 70th birthday is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the achievements of one of the nation’s most loved institutions, to appreciate the vital role the service plays in our lives, and to recognise and thank the extraordinary NHS staff who support and care for us every day”. He adds “If you have a happy memory you would like to share or wish to thank an NHS staff member, we would love to hear from you”.
The deadline for responses is the 25th June and the CCG may get in touch with you to see if you would like to share your story further.
